Water seems to be a feature of this month. Now ensconced in Lymington's salt marshes starting my month's residency at the Observatory. So peaceful.
Libby and I had the most wonderful weekend in Wiltshire filming our dance film Fold on a canal boat with film maker, Bucy McDonald, her lovely assistant, Kamini Plaha and super Skipper, Simon Kennedy. Beautiful there and we were a very happy team. Looking forward to editing now.
It was wonderful to work on the score with Leo Burtin, Ashleigh Griffiths, Susan Sheddan, Becky & Colette to create Finale for RS (Rajni Shah) Projects last Saturday. Fours hours of dialogue about 'Endings' together with sharing of food and thoughts through writing made for a very open, warm atmosphere which established that endings become new beginnings.
Found a beautiful location for the project Fold (shhh it's a secret!) with Libby Worth and film maker, Bucy McDonald. Very exciting.

Experimenting with resists and ink washes on long strips of canvas.
Getting big, crumpled, free and messy. Enjoying letting the mark lead the way, but not the challenge of making 8 metres fit into a 3 metre studio!
One of my Meander pieces is included in the Zine that accompanies Stitched time: a project initiated and organised by Clare Smith which explores Art as Work and the importance of making.
I'm making a series of collages to create a little portfolio that visually engages with my thesis proposal. Think it's going to be helpful
I am continuing to think about my PhD proposal.
Thanks++ to Kristen Kreider for a very helpful, encouraging & illuminating chat last week.
Much food for thought… and work to be done...

Species of Spaces ( with Libby Worth ) are making our usual spiralling navigation around ideas of home and handbags. Our documentation of Step Feather Stitch is currently on show at The Practice Gallery, Royal Holloway.
point and place are in a good place and about to start our new project. I think it's going to be all fun and games.
In the studio, I'm working on 'creating a mess', freeing up, breaking routines and producing a series of layered calligraphic pieces based on William Forsythe's performance of Solo and this oil painting Exegesis.
